Generally, the seller should inform you of any adverse property conditions of which he or she is aware. This is of no help if there are adverse conditions of which the seller is not aware.
The federal Real Estate Disclosure and Notification Rule requires that you be informed of certain adverse environmental conditions affecting the property.
Unfortunately, there are circumstances in which you aren't required to receive the disclosure. As a consumer, it is up to you to protect yourself, your family and you investment.
