They will begin this process only upon receipt of a consent form signed and dated by you at the time you file your application with a loan officer. There are several categories of information in the completed report:

  1. Identifying information - This is basically your name, address and SS number.
  2. Employment information - Each time a creditor requests a credit bureau they are required to put your employment. This is a chronological list of those employers, mainly used by perspective new employers.
  3. Credit information - Who you owe and how you have paid them.
  4. Public records if any (tax liens, judgments, bankruptcy etc)
  5. Inquiries for your record by others - Who else has checked your credit. This is how us loan officers know who you have been shopping with.

The following categories are NOT included in your credit report:

  1. Race
  2. Religion
  3. Health information
  4. Driving record
  5. Criminal record, if any
  6. Political affiliations, if any
  7. Income
